Pie Pumpkin Treat "Bag" ~ This cute little DIY treat bag is double duty...it can be used for parties, gifts or just because AND when you're done with the "treats" you can actually bake a pie! ;)

My daughter has an October birthday and with it being Halloween, we combined the 2 celebratory days to make treat "bags" out of pie pumpkins!

We bought pie pumpkins, a big bag of candy and I already had tons of cupcake grosgrain ribbon (from when I made and sold bows) to get us going on this too cute one-of-a-kind treat bag. We cut the tops off, scooped out the guts and cleaned them thoroughly. We filled each with candy and tied bows around the stem....VIOLA the cutest treat bag ever (and no one else had one like it)!

Cut off the top quarter of an pumpkin (or orange as shown here). Scoop out flesh with a spoon, then carve eyes, noses, and grins with a utility knife. Slice off the top quarter of each pumpkin, and reserve for lid and scoop out the interior of pumpkins. Pack each pumpkin with sorbet (or your choice of ice cream) and top it with a "lid." NOTE These are shown with oranges so to create the the stem if you choose this route, bend floral wire, and poke it in ~ not through ~ top of orange for tendrils. It's Around the Corner, FALL....... So Try These Easy Front Entry Decorating Ideas To Spruce Up Your Home

While browsing around the web looking for some simple Fall pick me up decorating ideas (I don't do much for fall because I do WAY to much at Christmas) I found these cute ideas. They appear easy, cute and cheap so I wanted to share just in case someone else is looking for some fresh new ideas!

Easy-Carve Pumpkins
These pumpkins get a mod makeover from geometric cutouts in different sizes and patterns. Just hollow out the pumpkins, then stencil on your designs. Cut out each square with a pumpkin carving saw and arrange on your front porch. For a country-chic look, rest pumpkins on an antique wooden chair or bench.

Vintage Garden Fork with Corn Husks
This is so simple and I love it! Give second life to a vintage find by hanging an old pitchfork on your fall door. Wire dried husks of corn on the prongs so you can remove them later if you like. Use two long nailheads to hang the pitchfork to your door. You may need to add extra nails or use wire to ensure that the pitchfork is extra-secure if you're placing it on an often-used door.

Wait for the Lord

"and observe what the LORD your God requires: Walk in his ways, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and requirements, as written in the Law of Moses, so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go." 1 Kings 2:1-3

If you've been praying for the Lord to move on your behalf for a situation (like I have been for several months), it may seem or you may feel that He hasn't heard you. When we pray, we have to wait for Him. That means that we have to look for, expect and hope in Him through this process because He is preparing us for the victory! If He just answered our prayers, our life changing prayers such as the one I have been waiting on, we would not have learned the lesson that He is wanting us to learn through this situation. We would be more likely to repeat the steps that brought us to this place of trial and tribulation. Instead He is preparing you and me for something, something BIG, something wonderful, that we can only give Him credit for, not something that we accomplished or through our prayers alone.....

Of course it is our prayer that He is going to answer BUT it is our willingness to continually seek Him through this trial - learning how to seek Him everyday, deny ourselves everyday, worship Him in the good and bad everyday, thanking Him for giving us everything we have and things that He has yet to do everyday! We can't just pray and walk away expecting Him to answer us and move on our behalf - He wants a relationship with us not just to be our acquaintance. It is like a parent-child relationship. You aren't going to provide for your children only when they ask for something are you? We strive everyday to provide them with their needs and desires because of our relationship with them, our love for them. We want a relationship with our children not to just be the "cash cow". The same is true with our Lord and Savior, He doesn't just want you to ask for things because quite truthfully He already knows our needs, He knew them before we did BUT He wants a relationship with us in return, before He answers ALL our prayers! He loves us MORE than we love our children.....now that is a concept that still boggles my mind! I know how much I love my kids and I just can't imagine Him loving me more than that but He does!

Keep praying for our situation, keep believing that He is working on your behalf, keep seeking Him wholeheartedly, trust Him and expect Him to move. I know trials and tribulations are part of life BUT they are still hard to go through. We just have to keep and walk in His ways while He is creating our victory - the victory that will be beyond our wildest dreams!

God I have my hope in you. I believe that you are working on my problems. I believe that you are making arrangements for my life. You are posting angels all through my walk, everywhere along my path where you already know I am going to walk. Thank you , Lord that you are a pioneer who has already gone before me and made a way for me to have victory over my life!

9 Clever Uses for Old Furniture ~ Check out these easy ways to repurpose old home furnishings before you decide to toss them out....from ladder to display shelf and mantel decor, you too can find a way to repurpose those forgotten household items.

Headboard Rack
A vintage headboard is given new life as a hanging rack. Donna painted the headboard white and attached a rack with hooks, transforming the headboard into a towel or coat rack for guests. "Random house numbers are fun additions that add some graphic interest," she says. The rack is also a great place to hang keys and other everyday items.

Practical Antique
A piece of old, unused furniture can become functional again with a little creativity. This Hoosier cupboard, popular in the early 20th century, was sitting in a woodshop for years. With some refinishing and paint, Janell Beals turned it into a practical home office desk. The crisp white cupboard against the black walls makes it the focal point of the room. The cupboard drawers allow for an abundance of storage space, and the size of the cupboard provides plenty of room for office equipment. "The piece not only adds to the design of the room but holds great memories as well," she says. Hang framed memorabilia to add to the timeworn look.

Playful Kid's Dresser
If you don't like the look of an old dresser, update it with a bright color. Janell Beals of Isabella & Max Rooms painted a forgotten dresser with bright pinkish-red chalkboard paint for a playful look that works perfectly in a kid's room. The dresser allows kids to use their imaginations by drawing or writing anything they want on it, keeping the walls safe from any unexpected drawings.

How Will You Accomplish Your Dreams?

The reward is coming!
Like most folks I have a Giant Mountain that must be moved, maybe more than 1 if I'm being truly honest here! I am holding on to His words and promises that my reward is coming - that He has a perfect plan for my life BUT I have to wait and grow through the process before He will bring it to pass and cast that mountain/mountains into the sea. If you are like me and need encouragement through the waiting process, here is a word that will help you and I hold on through the waiting process.

“ ‘...Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty” Zechariah 4:6

Are you facing a situation that seems impossible? Have you been fighting a battle for a long time? The key is: don’t go around talking about how big the problem is. Don’t go around confessing that you’re never going to make it. No, start declaring, “The gracious hand of God is upon my life!” When you realize God’s hand of favor is upon you, you will accomplish your dreams faster than you thought! When those thoughts of doubt come, declare the truth of God’s Word! “How are you going to get out of debt?” “The gracious hand of God is upon my life.” “How are you going to get well?” “The gracious hand of God is upon my life.” “How are you going to break that addiction?” “The gracious hand of God.” “How are you going to accomplish your dreams?” “The gracious hand of God!” The more you brag on God’s favor, the more you declare and believe His promises, the more you’ll see His favor. As you keep standing in faith, as You keep hoping in Him, you’ll see His promises manifest in your life. You’ll experience His favor and victory and see every dream and desire come to pass!

Father God, thank You for placing Your dreams and desires within me and for creating a plan to bring them to pass. Even when I can’t see a way, I trust that You are making a way. You are good, and today I declare that Your gracious hand is upon every area of my life in Jesus’ name! Amen.
