Home Office Organization and Storage on a Dime

Take advantage of your wall space by turning it into storage. Hang clipboards, magnetic boards, and plain containers around the room. Each item is inexpensive and available at office supply stores.

Loose papers and small items are the biggest challenges in a home office. Corral papers and mail in an unused bath cabinet mounted to the wall. The pegs offer extra space for hanging lunch boxes or clipboards. Store small items, such as labels, note cards, and ribbons, in a three-tier basket.

A sturdy metal spring can find new purpose as an office organization aid. Place small notebooks or mail between the coils to keep supplies in order.

DIY Furniture Projects

Pattern Placement
Instead of splashing pattern across an entire piece, reserve the motif for a particular section, such as the center drawers of a buffet. In addition to pattern panache, this thrift store dresser was made new with a fresh coat of white paint on the frame and new dark walnut stain on the drawer fronts.

Take It Down
Give a dining room table new life by cutting down the base to coffee table height. Blue paint refreshes the finish while oversize nailhead trim embellishes the apron of the table.

Ombre Desk
Give a desk or dresser an ombre effect. Pick a paint strip in a color you love and buy a can of paint for each drawer or "tier" of drawers. Use the lightest color on the strip for the top, the next darkest color (or colors, depending on how many drawers you have) for the middle section, and use the darkest color for the bottom drawer. Make sure to use colors in the order that they are displayed on the strip so you get a natural progression of color.

6 Simple and Functional Flea Market Makeovers

Crate Nightstand ~ Turn discarded crates into a full-fledged nighstand. Cut a piece of MDF to the desired size (it should be a little wider than the width of the two crates) and mount a set of casters to the bottom. Nail two crates into the top of the MDF. Place two more crates on top of the first pair and secure together with nails. Top the crates with another piece of MDF cut to size and secure it in place with nails.

Hang Your Hat (or Coat) ~ Give an old TV cabinet or china hutch a new purpose as an entryway organizer. To create this piece, we removed the doors and added hooks along the back of the hutch, gave the piece a fresh paint job, and added a shelf for extra storage.

Mantel Headboard ~ An old mantel proves to be just the thing for a statement-making headboard. Fill the firebox opening with an upholsterd cushion for extra comfort, and use the top of the surround for displaying favorite finds. Be sure to use the appropriate hardware for securing the heavy mantel to the wall.

Pink Petunia Pearl Etsy Store ~ Destash SALE

I mentioned earlier that I will be closing my Etsy Store by the end of this year, this the reason for the destash. As much as I love creating and seeing my clothing on little ones, my diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis last summer has and is crapping my lifestyle! My poor hands just don't work like they did even 6 months ago ~ it's been a huge adjustment, not what I expected since I'm only 40. My right hand is affected more so than my left and of course I'm right handed! Enough of my pity-poor me party =) I also just don't have the time to put into my business that I once did ~ my kiddos are older and all over the place!

You can click the Etsy Store button on the right of the screen to be taken to my store AND use coupon code 25off for 25% off your order when you spend $25 or more ~ My Thank You token for being a loyal fan!

Please take a look, you may find a piece that you've been looking for or that matches your creation to a T ~ here is a sampling of what I have listed so far, there is plenty more that I will be listing over the course of the next few months.

Who Has the Final Say

“But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.” Acts 20:24

Yes, God is a faithful God! We may be praying for things that haven’t happened yet, but just because things aren’t happening on our timetable doesn’t mean they aren’t going to happen. As long as what we are asking for is in God's will ~ that is why we need to pray for His will to be done not our own ~ then we will see things happen, WHAT a promise that is!

Don’t give up on that promise ~ God has the final say. Don’t let discouragement or negative thoughts talk you out of it ~ get your fire back! Get your passion back. If God said it, He will do it. If God spoke it, He will bring it to pass.

This is what the apostle Paul did in scripture. He said, “None of these things move me.” What were “these things?” They were circumstances that looked impossible ~ Persecution ~ People trying to talk him out of it ~ Negative, discouraging thoughts. His attitude was, “That doesn’t change my mind. I’m not moved by what I see. I’m moved by what I know, and I know if God be for me, who dare be against me? I know all of God’s promises are yes and amen. I know God has the final say!”

Father, I choose to trust You over trusting my circumstances, knowing that You are faithful. I choose to stand strong in You. Give me Your peace and joy as I wait on You and let me be a testimony of Your grace in Jesus’ name. Amen.
