I Am Who I Am ~ No Regrets

“Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.” Galatians 1:10

Most doctors or nurses will tell you when they are caring for people who are close to death and they ask those patients what their biggest regret was in their life, most will respond that one of the major regrets is, “I wish I had been true to who I was and not just lived to meet the expectations of others.”

How many people today are not being true to who God created them to be simply because they are afraid they’re going to disappoint somebody? They’re afraid they may fall out of someone else’s good grace. They worry about not being accepted into a certain group. I say this respectfully, but you cannot live trying to be who your parents want you to be, or who your boss wants you to be, or who your friends want you to be. You’ve got to stay true to who God has called you to be.

Today, make the decision to live life with no regrets. Surrender yourself wholeheartedly to who God created you to be. Let Him mold and shape your character. Let Him order your steps. As you submit your ways to Him, He will shine down on you, and you will live the fulfilled, abundant life He has prepared for you!

Father God, thank You for loving me and accepting me just the way I am. It is my heart’s desire to know You and to be known by You. Help me to live the life You’ve called me to and be faithful to You always in Jesus’ name. Amen.

From Seedtime to Harvest ~ Rely on God

My oh my, as you may have noticed I have been posting lately about God's timing. While I know that I know that His timing is best, the wait sure gets the best of me. It is so easy to talk to others about "doing" something, like waiting with expectancy and patience and whatnot and sometimes I can even follow my own advice BUT then there are the days that I just want to throw in the towel and be done!

Even as I say that I have this thought in my head saying "be done with what?" and really what would I be done with, God...... I know that I wouldn't have anything at all if it weren't for Him so NO I wouldn't be done with Him but maybe I think I would be done praying for the same thing day after day, week after week, month after month...... I can't even really do that though either because that is what the devil wants me to do, he wants me to give up. I have said it before, that the harder the situation or situations we face may be getting, the closer we are getting to our breakthrough; the devil knows that we are about to achieve our victory because God is on our side, if we give up God can't work and therefore we let the devil win and our harvest may never come.

As you know I've been praying for something for months now and I can taste the harvest but some days I backslide into "old" behaviors and feel like I'm losing ground, that the harvest is being pushed back.... honestly I'm sure it is because of me, my not relying on and trusting that He's in control. This is all part of my growing season ~ I have planted the seed but the harvest is taking a little longer to become "ready" (if there are any farmers out there you understand the lingo) because of my own actions!

I really need to rely on God (and again here's that word) TRUST that He is in control, He has my best interest at heart....I am NOT in control and can't do anything about my situation but PRAY, RELY ON and TRUST in Him to handle everything from seed time to harvest!!!

Proverbs 16:9 says, A man's mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure. Proverbs 20:24 says,Man's steps are ordered by the Lord. How then can a man understand his way? When God directs our paths, He sometimes leads us in ways that don't make sense to us so we're not always going to understand everything. If we try to reason out everything, we will experience struggle, confusion and misery—but there is a better way. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. This sounds so simple, yet too many times I make the mistake of trying to figure everything out myself. Most of us have spent our lives trying to take care of ourselves, but when we accept Christ as our Savior, we must learn to trust our lives to His care. When we do, we can say with the psalmist, ...I trusted in, relied on, and was confident in You, O Lord; I said, You are my God. My times are in Your hands...(Psalm 31:14-15).

First Peter 5:5 tells us that ...God sets Himself against the proud (the insolent, the overbearing, the disdainful, the presumptuous, the boastful)—but gives grace (favor, blessing) to the humble. Jesus said, ...apart from Me you can do nothing (John 15:5). Humility is a covering that draws the help of God into our lives to protect us. When we humble ourselves by saying, "God, I don't know what to do, but I'm trusting You," God gets in gear to help us. God won't allow us to succeed at anything unless we're leaning and relying on Him. But when we humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God, in due time, He will lead us to victory, our HARVEST. "Due time" is God's time, when God knows we're ready, not when we think we're ready.

The sooner I can fully understand and accept that, the sooner God can work His plan in my life.

Open Your Mouth and Expect It To Be Filled

“...Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it...” Psalm 81:10

Do you have your mouth open wide today? In other words, are you expecting God to fill you and increase you beyond measure? Are you ready for Him to satisfy your needs and desires with good things?

Think about a baby bird. When they are ready to eat, they open their mouths wide. They trust that they will be fed. They expect it. They look for it. They are ready for it. It should be the same way with us. We need to keep our spiritual mouths open by expecting the goodness of God to satisfy us.

Negative thinking is like closing your mouth. A closed mouth can’t be filled. But Jesus is saying today, “Why don’t you take the limits off?” Why don’t you trust and believe for supernatural opportunities? That little bird waiting for food isn’t concerned about where the mother is going to get it from. It isn’t concerned about how she’s going to dig it up. No, that bird just opens its mouth, trusting and waiting. Why don’t you do the same today? Trust that God is working behind the scenes. Open your mouth wide today. You won’t be disappointed. God is faithful to His Word, and He will fill you and satisfy you when you put your trust in Him!

Heavenly Father, I come to You today asking You to fill my mouth. I choose to trust You even when I don’t understand how everything is going to work out. I know that You are a good God with a good plan for my life. Fill me with Your peace and patience as I humbly wait on You in Jesus’ name. Amen.
